Achill Head

"Achill Head" is a Variable Edition carborundum and drypoint print with watercolour chine colle background on acid free tissue paper printed onto Fabriano paper. The plate provides a consistent foreground image, whilst the variable watercolour background varies within the edition. No two prints in the edition look the same, hence the variable edition. This is No. 1 of the edition of 20.
The image depicts a view of Achill Island, as viewed from Belmullet, which is North of Achill Island in Co. Mayo, Ireland.

About Original Prints

An original print is a work of art created by hand and printed by hand, either by the artist, from a plate, block, stone, or stencil that has been hand created by the artist for the sole purpose of producing the desired image.

By contrast, a reproduction print is a copy of an existing artwork. I do not produce reproduction prints.
