Alcock and Brown 100
John Alcock and Arthur Whitten Brown successfully completed the Transatlantic Crossing from Newfoundland to Derrygimla Bog, adjacent to the Marconi Radio Station near Clifden, Connemara in the West of Ireland. The location of the landing is now part of the Wild Atlantic Way - a tourist trail along the West of Ireland.
The daring journey by Alcock and Brown commenced near St. Johns, Newfoundland on 14th June 1919, and ended some 16 hours later when they crash landed their Vickers Vimy on 15th June 1919.
In celebration of their spectacular achievement I have created these prints this year, on the 100th anniversary of their flight.
