This print of the Vickers Vimy aircraft celebrates the 100th anniversary year of the famous and daring Transatlantic Crossing by Alcock and Brown from Newfoundland to Connemara.

This is one of a series of A5 image size prints created using a watercolour chine colle background, overprinted with the Vickers Vimy image on a photopolymer intaglio plate. As the background of each of the prints in the series is different, the print is a monoprint.

About Original Prints

An original print is a work of art created by hand and printed by hand, either by the artist, from a plate, block, stone, or stencil that has been hand created by the artist for the sole purpose of producing the desired image.

By contrast, a reproduction print is a copy of an existing artwork. I do not produce reproduction prints.
