This print celebrates the famous journey by John Alcock and Arthur Whitten Brown, from St. Johns, Newfoundland, to Derrygimla Bog, Clifden, Connemara, Ireland. Flying their Vickers Vimy aircraft, in June 1919, they became the first aviators to complete the Transatlantic Crossing in a single flight of sixteen hours.
The print is an A5 image size on Fabriano paper. It is a monoprint, with a watercolour chine colle background, overprinted with a photopolymer intaglio image.
